New Hampshire public health officials say they are prepared to deal with an outbreak of SARS should it come.
That word from state epidemiologist - Dr. Jesse Greenblatt who spoke Monday at a news conference on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Governor Craig Benson and state officials held the "informational meeting" with members of the department of public health, emergency management, law enforcement and the medical community. Dr. Greenblatt says the state is being vigilant.

11:37:25 We are actively looking for cases and are working with collegues in hospitals and emergency deaprtments to monitor any cases that may look like SARS. 11:37:41

11:31:34 SARS people shouldn't be afraid but treat it with respect, be responsible practicee good hygeine, and we should be doing that anyway - that will partly remove the threat 11:32:06

Soundup: Edwards campaigns tape 1 00:02:07
Track: Travelling hundreds of miles through lousy weather to meet small groups of people in places few have ever heard of….
Soundup: Edwards campaigns tape 1 09;47:27 "Welcome to the only Henniker on earth..
Track: Yes - all the signs are here: Primary season is under way and the Democrats who want to be president are coming to New Hampshire.
Bite: Edwards campaigns tape 1 10:17:59 In two years, just a little over two years, this is what we've gotten: 2.6 million jobs lost; $4.5 trillion lost in the stock market; a $5.6 trillion federal surplus gone. We are in deficit spending.
Track: First, they make their case against the President, as Sen. John Kerry did on Earth Day.
Kerry/Earth Day tape 14:39:38 First, President Bush broke a campaign promise to reduce the harmful carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming from power plants. Instead of enforcing the law, he has taken environmental cops off the beat and he is letting power plants hundreds of miles away from New England pollute New England's air.
Track: And then they offer their own plan, such as Rep. Dick Gephardt's health care proposal to cover all Americans by granting tax credits to employers who provide health insurance.
Gephardt/health care tape 00:20;05 I think my plan not only helps companies, helps individuals, not only helps families more than the Bush tax cuts, but I think it's more economically stimulative because it helps corporations.
Politics 'n Eggs - Lieberman tape 1 01:18:40 Even the tax cut, as we can now say two years after the first one was adopted, does nothing to stimulate the economy - the recovery we need today - but does plunge America deeper into debt today and tomorrow.
Track: All the Democrats have singled out the President's tax cut plan for criticism, although they differ on how they would stimulate the economy. They also differ on support for the war in Iraq.
Bite: Democrat dinner tape 2 07:44:40 What are we doing supporting unilateral intervention in a country that is not an immediate threat to the United States.
Track: However, even Howard Dean toned down his criticism during the hostilities.
Bite: Dean/NEA tape 1 03:23:37 I'm not going to engage in the Democratic red-meat stuff that audiences love to hear. I won't do that while troops are on the ground.
Soundup: Bob Graham/Statehouse tape 14:26:10 I was mentioning, I've been here several times. The last time was in 1986.
Track: It's a crowded field with 9 declared candidates
Bite: Democrat dinner tape 3 08:30:03 In 1980, your daddy called it 'voodoo economics.' In 2003, it is hoodoo voodoo economics. It didn't work 23 years ago, it will not work today.
Track: …and at least one undeclared potential candidate.
Bite: Hart @ UNH tape 1 01:01:57 Globalization is a huge, historic and epic revolution - but it is accompanied by equally profound revolution called the information revolution.
Soundup: Bob Graham/Statehouse tape 14:23:57 "Lou D'Allesandro."…
Track: Even though most voters aren't paying close attention yet, the campaigns are focusing on lining up supporters.
Bite: Democrat dinner tape 1 01:09;00 I want someone who can beat George Bush. I think John Kerry can do that.
Track: Supporters are especially valuable because they can spin the message even when the candidates aren't here.
Democrat dinner tape 1 01:13:45 We don't have to win it. John Kerry has to win it. Joe Lieberman just has to do well.
Track: For NH Outlook, I'm richard Ager.
Soundup: Politics 'n Eggs - Lieberman tape 3 11:32:37 "I'm a senator from Connecticut running for president." "Good luck to you." "Thanks a lot pal."

Is Gephardt's introcudtion of a health care plan effective? THink it resonates with people? Automatically harken back to Hillary Clinton.
IIs that a good or bad thing?
